The MIT PDA Human Affairs Committee is organizing an information session with a representative from Samaritans.
*Information from Samaritans: Samaritans has been providing compassionate suicide prevention programs for over 43 years. We have provided caring, non-judgmental support on over 2.7 million calls from our community's most vulnerable individuals. We have trained over 4,800 volunteers with befriending skills that benefit them, not only in their service on our 24/7 Crisis Services, but also in their ongoing relationships and within their communities. We have provided workshops and trainings on suicide prevention to more than 125,000 individuals in human service organizations, churches and community groups. And we have supported over 12,000 individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide. (https://samaritanshope.org/)

Volleyball and Soccer

Hosted by MIT-PDA Sports Committee

Join us for indoor volleyball and soccer! Never played before? Don't worry! All abilities are welcome. Spouses and significant others of postdocs are welcome free of charge! Friends and colleagues may join only if they have an athletics membership (otherwise you may need to pay a 1time entrance fee that is around $15).

Beginner? Show up early to learn how to play and improve skills. The courts are located in the Zesiger center. Enter through the Vassar street entrance and the attendees at the gate should let you through if you say you are with the PDA and present MIT ID. There are bathrooms in the facility where you can change or come with someone with a membership who can give you access to the locker rooms.

Postdoc Yoga
The next session of Postdoc Yoga begins March 14, 2018. This is an open level, gentle yoga class for postdocs and spouses/partners of postdocs. Class meets Wednesdays, 7:30pm-8:30pm.
