We wanted to let you know about a new resource for the MIT community, including postdocs, faculty, staff, and students.
TurboVote<http://mit.turbovote.org> is an online system that makes registering to vote fast and easy for eligible individuals (U.S. citizens who will be 18 years old on or before Election Day). With TurboVote, you can register to vote in your home state using your permanent address (students can opt to register in Massachusetts with their MIT address), apply for an absentee ballot, and sign up to receive election reminders. Your information is private and will not be shared by TurboVote.
MIT administrators worked with a nonpartisan group of students as well as faculty, staff, and postdocs to launch TurboVote at MIT as a way to promote civic engagement. The Office of the Chancellor and the Office of the Vice President for Research want postdocs and others to be aware of this new resource.
