Have you ever wondered what your advisor was like as a graduate student?
What they struggled with? What they are struggling with now? This
conversation series is not about science, but about becoming and being an
academic. We will explore a variety of issues along the path, such as how
to deal with your own and others' expectations, and with impostor syndrome
and how to keep yourself motivated? Prof. Ed Bertschinger will share his
personal stories and invite you to join the conversation. This is the first
event in a new series at MIT organized by GSC ARC, based on the original
"Growing Up in Science" developed at NYU by Weiji Ma.
