I wanted to share with you some upcoming postdoctoral/fellowship 
opportunities in case they could be helpful for the postdoc listserv.

*Postdoctoral/Student Opportunities (fellowships will not incur

*_Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Science, 
Environmental Science:_*

**New** *International Astronomical Union & The Gruber Foundation: TGF 
Fellowship

_Eligibility Criteria_: applicants in the last months of their PhD, 
having already made successful contacts for a post-doctoral position, or 
post-docs in their first year of appointment, are encouraged to apply. 
In the case of applicants at the PhD level, the PhD must have been 
awarded by the start of the Fellowship, i.e., no later than Oct. 1st of 
the award year.

_Please note_: the host institute for the postdoctoral appointment, must 
be a center of excellence in the applicant's field of research and 
located in a country different either from that where the PhD was 
awarded, or from where the first post-doc contract is being completed 
(in the case of a second post-doc).

**New** *The Camille & Henry Dreyfus Foundation, Inc.: Postdoctoral 
Program in Environmental Chemistry*

*Applications most likely to be of interest should describe innovative 
fundamental research in the chemical sciences or engineering related to 
the environment. Examples include but are not limited to the chemistry 
associated with: the climate, the atmosphere, aquatic or marine 
settings, toxicology, soil or groundwater. Also of interest are 
chemistry-related energy research (renewable sources, sequestration, 
etc.), and new or green approaches to chemical synthesis and processing, 
both with a clearly stated relation to the environment.*

_Deadline:_8/1/17; _Award Amount_: provides a principal investigator 
with an award of $120,000 over two years to appoint a Postdoctoral 
Fellow in environmental chemistry.

_Eligibility Criteria_: applications are accepted from principal 
investigators who have well-established research efforts in 
environmental science or engineering.


*_Biomedical Research (Cancer):_*

have less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience at the time the grant 
will be awarded and must not have previously received any major grant

Pediatric Fellowship Award*

from $87,400 to $106,350 total, inclusive of a $2,000 annual expense

applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D., D.M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or comparable

research experience; eligible applicants will have begun their full-time 
postdoctoral work between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2014; by the

least one primary, peer reviewed, research article from their

*The goal of the Hanna H. Gray Fellows Program is to recruit and retain 
individuals who are from gender, racial, ethnic, and other groups 
underrepresented in the life sciences at the career stages targeted by 
this program, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds. The 
competition is open to those dedicated to basic research from both 
doctoral and/or medical training paths in all biomedical and life 
science disciplines including plant biology, evolutionary 
biology, biophysics, chemical biology, biomedical engineering, and 
computational biology.*

_Deadline_: 2/15/17; _Award Amount_: $80,000/year for over four years of 
postdoctoral training and $270,000/year for up to four years of the 
faculty phase, if program criteria are met; /in the faculty phase 20% of 
the research grant may be used for indirect costs. Proposals must be

_Eligibility Criteria_: the program is open to individuals who are 
from gender, racial, ethnic, and other groups underrepresented in the 
life sciences at the career stages targeted by this program, including

MD (or equivalent) by the start of the grant term; applicants can have 
no more than 12 months of postdoctoral research experience at the time

*Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA): Berman/Topper HD Career

_Deadline_: 3/17/17; _Award Amount_: up to $80,000/year ($75,000 salary 
and research support, plus $5,000 travel/education budget) for three

_Eligibility Criteria_: applicants should be no more than 5 years 
removed from obtaining their PhD or completing their residency/fellowship.

*Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE): 2017 CURE Taking

*To promote the careers of young investigators to allow them to develop 
a research focus independent of their mentor(s). Researchers may propose 
basic or clinical studies, but this award mechanism is not intended to 
support clinical trials. Research that involves collaboration and a 
multidisciplinary approach is desirable. *

_Letter of Intent (LOI) Deadlines:_4/12/17; _Award Amount_: up to 
$100,000 over one year. /LOI does not need to be routed through the 
Office of Sponsored Programs; however, a full proposal must be reviewed 
by OSP prior to submission. /

_Eligibility Criteria_: these awards will be provided for senior 
postdoctoral fellows who have a minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral 
experience, clinical fellows who are Neurology Residents in their 
Neurology training who are considering Epilepsy Fellowships, or newly 
appointed faculty within one year of having completed postdoctoral 
training.  Individuals from any country are eligible to apply.
