Subject: Forwarding a visiting scholar funding opportunity to the MIT community
My name is Hanwei Li, and I handle external relations for the institute of Stanford Bio-X<https://biox.stanford.edu/> at Stanford University.
I'm hoping to reach someone at MIT who is able to forward funding opportunities to people who are currently finishing their MIT position and are looking for their next research opportunity. Applications for this fellowship are due on Feb 6, 2018, and applicants can be either in grad school right now about to finish their PhDs, or currently are in a postdoc position at MIT but recently got their PhDs.
In particular, this opportunity is a visiting scholar fellowship opportunity fully funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation that allows the selected fellows to conduct postdoctoral-level research for 3 years at Stanford before going back to Denmark for their 4th year. While applicants don't need to physically be in Denmark right now, they should have significant association to the Danish academic/research environment (e.g. have graduated from a Danish university or worked as a postdoc in Denmark before).
The following links has the complete information and all eligibility requirements regarding this program:
Official webpage for applying<http://novonordiskfonden.dk/en/content/visiting-scholar-fellowships-stanford-bio-x> (through the Novo Nordisk Foundation website)
Background info on the joint fellowship program<https://biox.stanford.edu/highlight/visiting-scholar-fellowships-stanford-bio-x-funded-novo-nordisk-foundation>
Would you be able to forward such opportunities to the MIT community? I realize that this opportunity does have a targeted pool in that the applicants should have a significant association to Denmark, but we know that top researchers are spread out around the world these days.
Thanks so much for your help and guidance! I've also attached a flier for this program to this email. Please use me as the point of contact for any questions that potential applicants might have regarding this program.
Happy Holidays!
Best,
Hanwei
