Call for Nominations: PDA Human Affairs Committee Chair

Dear MIT Postdocs,

The MIT Postdoctoral Association (PDA) is seeking for nominations for a Human Affairs Committee Chair or Co-Chair to serve in the 2016 term. This is a great chance to take on a leadership role and help shape the postdoctoral experience at MIT!

The Human Affairs Committee is a relatively new committee, and has been the main interface between the PDA and the MIT CRD (committee for race and diversity, a campus-wide initiative). The HA committee also supports other camps groups looking to increase inclusiveness.

Thus, your responsibilities would include:

-          Encourage fair treatment, prevent and eliminate discrimination, and foster mutual understanding and respect among all postdocs

-          Initiate and manage health and wellness programs for postdocs (i.e. Postdoc REFS Program, Postdoc Women's Group, etc.)

We will vote on the candidates during our next PDA monthly meeting (March 14, 12-2pm, E25-202), so please come if you are interested in running for the position!
