2017 Mentoring Program

Mentor+Mentee=Building Your Futures by Learning Together

Mentors are important sources of information and guidance for your 
career advancement.  We have gathered an outstanding group of seasoned 
mentors who are excited to help you.

If you want to participate in the 2017 Mentoring Program, please join 
us for speed mentoring networking.  The first kickoff meeting will be 
held on January 12, 2017, where you will meet with the mentors, and we 
will match you with a mentor based on your application.

Nathalie Goletiani is a physician-scientist currently serving as a 
clinical neuroscientist at McLean Hospital and a faculty at Harvard 
Medical School. Nathalie's interests are related to brain and 
brain-related disorders, i.e. in Neurology and Psychiatry. In this 
regard, she completed basic and clinical fellowships at Harvard School 
of Public Health and Harvard Medical School. She is an author of 
peer-reviewed publications and a recipient of numerous national and 
international awards.

In her last fellowship, Nathalie was charged with rebuilding and 
running the Clinical Research Program at McLean Hospital, which taught 
her all aspects of management related to the simultaneous running of 
multiple clinical trials. This experience in addition to her training 
culminated in the generation of her concepts and mechanisms related to 
women's’ disorders, a severely understudied area. She was awarded the 
Zinberg Fellowship and Livingston Award to specifically address  women's 
issues and the complex underlying mechanisms in the  neurobiology of women.

Robin Hamilton is Founder and Principal Consultant at Boston Business 
Operations, With over 15 years of experience and a Master’s degree in 
Project Management, she brings her expertise in strategy planning, 
preparation, and execution to clients. She works with entrepreneurs  and 
business owners  to develop scalable business operations which  support 
the maintenance and growth of their businesses while  preserving capital 
investment.

Robin Hamilton earned her Master of Science in Project Management and  a 
Bachelor of Science in Leadership from Northeastern University in 
Boston, MA.

Miriam Margala, Ph.D.: In both, her academic and professional careers, 
Miriam’s interest has always focused on gender equality. What started 
off as research of gendered and androcentric language use and 
communication, soon developed into practical involvement with and 
passion for helping women to achieve equality. She holds a dual Ph.D. 
in English and Linguistics (University of Rochester) where one area of 
her expertise is communication and gender. Miriam has presented and 
published on the topic nationally and internationally.

Miriam teaches at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. She also 
works in the areas of art and literature both in the US and Europe and 
through her work continues to research and be actively involved with 
gender issues as they relate to professional, social and cultural 
aspects of communication.

Miriam is currently a mentor to both undergraduate and graduate 
students.  She has experience in guiding young women to achieve both 
their academic and professional career goals.

Jessica Sullivan, MPH is the Assistant Director of Research in the 
Department of Global Health and Population at the Harvard T.H. Chan 
School of Public Health. She oversees the research portfolio for Prof. 
David Bloom, and a team of six researchers focused on quantifying the 
value of vaccination, analyzing the economic impacts of aging 
populations and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and priority setting 
for global health through the use of multi-criteria decision analysis 
(MCDA) tools. Before working at Harvard, Jessica spent five years in 
Washington D.C. with Population Services International as an Associate 
Program Manager for programs in Zimbabwe and Madagascar, Global 
Security Manager, and the Special Assistant to the President. Her 
professional interests include behavior change communications,  cervical 
cancer prevention and treatment, and emergency planning and  response. 
She has a Master of Public Health degree in Global Health  Communication 
from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s  degree in 
Spanish from DePauw University.

Michele Whitham is an established employment and privacy lawyer, 
community leader and owner of Whitham Law LLC, serving clients in 
Massachusetts, the United States and worldwide.  She is a former 
Co-Managing Partner of Foley Hoag LLP, where she practiced for 
twenty-five years, and is a well-known lawyer who has been recognized 
nationally for her accomplishments.

Her many accolades include recently being listed in The Best Lawyers  in 
America® for Employment Law – Management, co-leading the launch of  the 
inaugural Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts' Women's  Leadership 
Initiative, and being named one of Massachusetts Lawyers  Weekly's Top 
Women in the Law.  Michele is a 2015-2016 Inductee into  the National 
Association of Professional Women and the Association’s  VIP Woman of 
the Year Circle; a director of the Partnership Inc.  (promoting 
diversity in management ranks).

Susu Wong, MBA is an experienced business and marketing strategist who 
worked on a variety of companies from high-tech industry, healthcare, 
biotech, higher education to startup companies.  She is also an  adjunct 
Professor in Marketing at the UMass Lowell and a frequent  workshop 
speaker.    She has a unique combination of marketing,  business and 
technical experience that provides a well-rounded  advantage for her

Susu is an advocate in helping women advancing their careers. She is a 
founding member of de la Femme, a grassroots organization that  provides 
networking and resources to help women in advancing their  career goals. 
  She held an MBA from Lesley University and was  certified by 
Northeastern University in digital marketing, and website  design from 
Georgetown University.

The Mentoring Program will run from January to June of 2017.  The 
kick-off and wrap-up meetings with being held with the entire group, 
but meetings and correspondence in-between will be determined by 
yourself and your mentor.

Wrap-up Meeting Date/Time:  To be determined.
