*The Art of Behavioral Interviewing *

*Tuesday, October 6^th , 2:00 - 3:30pm, 36-156*

While your technical skills will get you the interview, it is your
behavioral attributes that will get you the job. This session will
discuss preparation and strategies for a successful interview. In
addition, sample behavioral interview questions will be provided along
with tips on how to answer these tough questions. All GECD events are

*Does Your Resume Communicate the Right Message?*

*Wednesday, Wednesday 7^th , 3:00 - 4:30pm, 4-153*

This workshop presented by Bob Dolan will discuss the many ways of
creating a resume that effectively targets the Hiring Manager. Can your
resume survive a 15 second scan and still get into the YES pile?
Discussions will surround the strategies of effective messaging and how
to be "on-point" with your written communication. Your resume is not an
autobiography, but rather a list of relevant accomplishments that links
your skills to the needs of the company. You’ll use these techniques in
your lifelong career strategies. All GECD events are open to MIT
undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and alumni. Advanced
registration requested via CareerBridge

*Networking 101*

*Thursday, October 8^th , 5:30-7:00pm, 4-153*

Building relationships through networking with fellow students, alumni
and professionals is one of the most effective ways to uncover
employment opportunities. However, contrary to popular opinion, there is
a right way and wrong way to network. This workshop introduces you to
resources you’ll need to research companies and discuss strategies on
how to effectively network using resources both at MIT and beyond. We
will examine effective tactics for networking, including the use of
social media and the MIT ICAN Alumni Directory. All GECD events are open
to MIT undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and alumni. Advanced
registration requested via CareerBridge
<https://www.myinterfase.com/mit/student>
