Dear MIT Postdocs,
This is an eventful time of year, with much happening now and at the
start of the new year. We wanted to give you a quick look ahead at
January, and hope you can carve out time for your professional development.
(1) MIT's Independent Activity Period (IAP) will run from Jan. 4 - Jan
29, 2016.
Many classes and activities meet for one hour and are free. See details
at *http://web.mit.edu/iap/
*You could check the listing by category
http://student.mit.edu/iap/nctoc.html
The topics are endless, including engineering, skill development
(presentations, teaching, communication, leadership, research), patents,
start-ups, data management, figure skating, dancing, music, and much
more. Some sessions require pre-registration.
(2) MIT's Office of Global Education and Career Services has many
sessions on its January calendar - see
http://gecd.mit.edu/mit-events?month=2016-01
and http://gecd.mit.edu/career/postdoc
The sessions are cross-listed in the IAP catalog.
(4) MIT's Writing and Communication Center - postdocs may schedule
one-on-one appointments. See
http://cmsw.mit.edu/writing-and-communication-center/
and get set up to use their online scheduler.
Best wishes for a happy holiday season and new year.
Regards,
Dana
