Dear postdoc leaders—
We are seeking nominations for a postdoc to serve on the Committee on
the Campus Conversation on Climate Change. This committee will seek
broad input from the MIT community on how the US and the world can most
effectively address global climate change. The Conversation should
explore pathways to effective climate mitigation, including how the MIT
community – through education, research, and campus engagement – can
constructively move the global and national agendas forward. The
committee will be expected to implement the conversation, which could
include invited speakers, public forums and a survey of the community.
We are seeking to populate the committee with representative members of
the MIT community who have diverse points of view and who are committed
to open discourse of the broad range of ideas that are likely to emerge.
The work will occur over the current academic year and the committee
will be expected to submit a report to us.
Thanks very much,
Bob Armstrong, Marty Schmidt, Susan Solomon and Maria Zuber
[Director, MIT Energy Initiative; Provost; Founding Director of the
Environmental Initiative; and Vice President for Research, respectively]
