Three postdoc alums will share their experiences and answer questions
about moving from postdoctoral positions at MIT into nonacademic roles
in three very different organizations. There will be refreshments and
plenty of time for questions.

*Erika Bechtold*received her Ph.D. in biological chemistry from Wake
Forest in November 2010. She joined MIT as a postdoctoral associate in
January 2011 in the Biological Engineering Department. After two years
as a postdoc, she joined Tufts University as a licensing associate in
the Office for Technology Transfer and Industry Collaboration (TTIC).
She now runs the TTIC graduate student and postdoctoral internship
program, as well as manages several key patent portfolios and licensing
efforts for the School of Engineering and the School of Arts and Sciences.

*Abigail Noble*received her Ph.D. in chemical oceanography from the
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution / MIT Joint program in October
2011. She then spent two and a half years as a postdoctoral associate at
WHOI and in the Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences Department
(EAPS). In April 2014, she joined the Environmental Chemistry technical
staff at Gradient as a consultant. Her project work at Gradient
includes chemical compliance and environmental forensics.

*Reza Sharifi Sedeh*received his Ph.D.in Mechanical Engineering from MIT
in June 2011, and then continued his research at MIT for two more years
as a postdoctoral associate. He joined Philips Research North America in
September 2013, and is currently working as a Data Scientist in
Healthcare informatics.
