Forwarded information from Melissa Martin-Green (*<melmart at MIT.EDU>),*

Program Coordinator, [MIT] Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program
(UROP):

UROP and the Teaching and Learning Laboratory are offering a
Facilitating Effective Research two-day luncheon series next week. The
series is geared toward graduate students and post-docs, who are
currently or soon plan to be mentoring undergraduate researchers,
especially those planning to mentor students this summer.

The goal is to facilitate discussion about UROP mentoring best
practices, including setting realistic expectations and effective
mentor-mentee communication among other topics.Ultimately, these
sessions will help foster effective UROP research and advising
relationships between undergraduates and their mentors.

The sessions will be held on Wednesday, May 7, and Thursday, May 8, from
11am-1pm each day and lunch will be provided.

*Those interested in attending should RSVP to me at this address
[**Melissa Martin-Greene <melmart at MIT.EDU>], ASAP, as the series will be
limited to no more than 25 attendees.*

Registrations are accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis and
accepted attendees will receive registration confirmations with
additional details.
