Dear MIT Postdocs,

MIT's Office of Global Education and Career Services has many sessions
on its January calendar - see http://gecd.mit.edu/calendar/2015-01
and http://gecd.mit.edu/career/postdoc

Also, MIT's Independent Activity Period (IAP) will run from Jan. 5 - Jan
30, 2015.
Many classes and activities meet for one hour and are free.

Go to *http://web.mit.edu/iap/* and explore the listings of non-credit
areas by sponsor, category, and/or date
(http://web.mit.edu/iap/listings/index.html). Note when advance sign-up
is required, and check for any restrictions. Categories include:
Careers; Engineering; Law and Legal Issues; Management and
Entrepreneurship; Writing and Communication Skills; Academic Skills and
Resources; Research Skills; and many others. You will also find some
purely "fun" activities, and sessions related to art, music, film,
cooking, hobbies, and more. There are also many discipline-specific
offerings

These are just some examples:

How to Speak
Get a Patent on your invention and turn it into a start-up
Balsa Wood Glider Competition with MIT Design/Build/Fly
