MIT Postdocs,
It's Cyber Monday!
While you are online picking up a few items for your friends and family, why not add one of these gifts for homeless and disadvantaged children? Find the links for the lists below.
It's as easy as a few clicks. We are running out of time to purchase for this year's MIT Giving Tree Gift Drive, so let's show everyone how generous the postdocs really are!
Kind regards,
Daniel Cuppoletti & Virginia Burger

MIT Postdocs,
The first list is now empty thanks to the enthusiasm of everyone purchasing gifts so quickly!
There are now two active lists:
1. Gifts for Homeless Teenagers<http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/giftlist/2YLJP1TEI8P1L/ref=topnav_lists_3>
This provides items for homeless teenagers, such as essentials that they need (backpacks, soap, deodorant, water bottle).
2. Toys for Children<http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/giftlist/2LR28KSBQDA6Y/ref=topnav_lists_2>
This list provides toys for children in the various organizations MIT PSC serves. These are additional items (not specific to child gift requests), so they are not as high of a priority.
Please purchase any items that you prefer. Thank you to everyone that has been so generous with the gifts, it is wonderful to see the MIT postdoc community coming together for this good cause.
Happy Holidays,
Daniel Cuppoletti & Virginia Burger

MIT Postdocs,
We are off to a great start with the MIT Giving Tree Gift Drive! Gifts were purchased and the MIT PSC is extremely grateful.
We still have about 10 gifts left from the first 50. Let's get those purchased and I can send out the next list! We are aiming for at least 150 gifts this year.
We have 1,400 postdocs at MIT, surely we can purchase 150 gifts this season! The gifts are small and mostly under $20. Your generosity will put a smile on the face of a local child in need.
Please purchase the gifts here: MIT Giving Tree Amazon Wish List<http://www.amazon.com/registry/giftlist/2YLJP1TEI8P1L>
Thank you for the purchases and let's show how generous the MIT Postdoc population is!

Dear MIT Postdocs,
It is so unfortunate that in this affluent city so many less fortunate children and families...
This season we are kindly asking you to please spread joy to local children in need.
The Postdoctoral Association in collaboration with the MIT Giving Tree would like to offer small gifts to unprivileged children in the area. The children themselves have made specific gift requests that would make them extremely happy if "Santa" delivered them this year.
Last year, our amazing postdocs were the #1 most giving group at MIT, providing more than 100 presents to underprivileged children. We need your help to beat our own record this year.
Most gifts are under $25. Please help them! Getting the gift they asked for would mean the world to them...
We have compiled an Amazon Wish List for the first 50 gifts here: MIT Giving Tree Amazon Wish List<http://www.amazon.com/registry/giftlist/2YLJP1TEI8P1L>
As each list is fully purchased we will send out another list with more gifts. Let's aim for at least 150 this year!
There are a couple of gifts that go slightly over the $25 limit (namely the backpacks). These backpacks are for homeless teenagers in Cambridge, and these kids really need a big durable backpack. It would be great if we could come through for these kids - if the cost is too much for you personally, teaming up with other postdocs in your lab to give one of these gifts is a great way to do something special for a homeless kid this holiday season.
A couple of the gift requests are for gift cards that are not available on the Amazon website. There is a link to the respective site where they can be found (iTunes, Target, etc.) on the Amazon wish list, but just note that these gifts will not be purchased directly from Amazon.
The shipping address should display automatically, if not please ship them to:
Nic Vega
400 Technology Square
NE46, 633
Cambridge MA 02139
Or bring them over! We'll label them with the child's name and deliver it to MIT's Giving Tree.
Thank you for your support and have a wonderful season!
More information about the MIT Giving Tree can be found here: MIT Giving Tree<http://web.mit.edu/mitpsc/whatwedo/volunteering/programs/givingtree/getinvolved.html>
Sincerely,
Nic Vega, Daniel Cuppoletti, & Virginia Burger on behalf of the PDA
