Dear MIT Post-doctoral Community,

The MIT Innovation Initiative is excited to announce a pilot program for 
post-docs that will run from October 2014 – January 2015!

The goal of the IMPACT Program is for post-docs to develop skills 
(technical and soft) and professional networks that better prepare them 
for careers inside and outside of academia, through an experience that 
challenges them to explore and defend the real-world impact of their 
research. Impact *may range from basic research* that enables future 
experiments *to later stage projects* that could be translated into 
industry or entrepreneurial ventures.

The program will be led by Professor Martha Gray, and is based on her 
work as the Consortium Director of the Madrid-MIT M+VIsion Idea^2 
Program <http://mvisionconsortium.mit.edu/idea2>.

Attached is an overview of this year’s pilot program, including the 
benefits of participation, draft schedule and application process. If
