Dear postdocs,
The Postdoctoral Association (PDA) is an organization of postdocs, working for postdocs. We hope that our actions, that include professional development and social events are making your MIT experience even better.
David Engel, our current community building committee chair, has been organizing monthly social events over the past year. He is in the process of stepping down and we would like to have a few postdocs volunteers to help organize the next series of social events. This is a great way to connect with new people and will not require much of your time. But we do need you to be reliable to ensure the success of the events. If you are interested in helping out, please email David (dengel at mit.edu<mailto:dengel at mit.edu> ). He will then contact you to get the next social started!
If social events are not your thing, there are many opportunities to help the PDA: contact pda-all at mit.edu<mailto:pda-all at mit.edu>)
- Organizing social and community building events.
- Organizing scholarships, travel grants and other recognition for postdocs at MIT.
- Professional development (organizing talks and mixers, ILP-postdoc connection).
- Advocating for postdocs (family-related issues, fellow/associate differences, salaries, benefits…)
Join us for our next PDA meeting, Tuesday August 13th 12:00p–1:30p Building: 4-105 (rsvp here<mailto:crouzier at mit.edu>). It is open to all postdocs, and we are always happy to see new faces!
Have a great rest of the week,
Thomas Crouzier - PDA President
