Dear Postdocs,
I'd like to invite you to lunch on January 7th at 1:00 in 1-214 to
discuss the MIT+K12 video project. In 2012, an incredible group of your
colleagues played an instrumental role in helping MIT in an online
educational collaboration with the Khan Academy. MIT graduate and
undergraduate students are making hands-on, experimental videos to help
inspire and educate K-12 students in Science, Technology, Engineering
and Math (STEM) fields. We are looking for some more post-docs to
mentor teams of MIT students to ensure high quality, accurate content in
their videos which are primarily geared towards a middle school
audience. To learn more about the project, please visit our website:
http://k12videos.mit.edu/; our video collection has over 270,000 views.
We are accepting 20-30 more teams of students to make videos due in late
January. We will require the teams to have a meeting with their postdoc
before they film with the intent of getting the technical content right
the first time. On Monday, January 7th at 1:00 in 1-214, I'd like to
offer you lunch to discuss the program.
If you are interested in attending lunch, please RSVP using this URL:

We are incredibly thankful for the engagement of the post doctoral
community in these efforts and look forward to seeing you next week.
Sincerely,
Becky
