Dear MIT Postdocs,

We are sorry to say that the available slots are already filled. Please
check the link again periodically in case of cancellations. (See the
message sent out this morning for the link and other details).

Please note that the Writing Center is an excellent resource that also
includes consultations on CVs. Please see that information below.

Finally, we are working on more career services for postdocs, and hope
other sessions will be offered.
In the meantime, MIT Global Education & Career Development
(http://gecd.mit.edu/) (located in 12-170) has a career reference
library, an online handbook, and presentations that are open to postdocs
on topics such as the academic job search and effective CVs.
Postdocs may also access job postings and on-campus recruiting
opportunities by completing an online CareerBridge registration form. At
this time, one-on-one counseling services are available only for MIT
students and alumni.

Regards,

Dana

Dear MIT Postdocs,

The Writing & Communication Center (http://writing.mit.edu/wcc - located
in 12-132) provides free professional advice about all types of writing
and speaking/oral presentations to all members of the MIT community,
including MIT students, postdocs and staff. This includes one-on-one
consulting sessions with professional writers. Specialized help is
available to non native English speakers.

The Writing Center Director, Steve Strang, informs us that the online
scheduler is now open (http://mit.mywconline.com/). The first day of
appointments is Wednesday, Sept. 5th.

September is historically a good time for postdocs to make appointments
for writing consultations (including regarding CVs, grant proposals, and
articles) since most students are not yet geared up to use the resource,
and more openings tend to be available.

Regards,

Dana
