You have been offered your dream job. Now you have to negotiate with
your future department/institution for the support you will need to set
up your new laboratory. Professors Troy Littleton and Markus Buehler
will discuss the do's and don'ts of How to Negotiate a Job Offer.
*Dr. Littleton* is Professor in the Dept of Biology, as well as in the
Dept of Brain & Cognitive Sciences at MIT. He received his MD and Ph.D.
from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX and completed his
postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin. In 2000, he joined
the faculty of the Department of Biology and the Picower Institute for
Learning and Memory at MIT. Dr. Littleton will talk about how to
estimate what it will take to run your lab.
*Dr. Buehler *is Associate Professor in the Dept of Civil and
Environmental Engineering at MIT, where he directs the Laboratory for
Atomistic and Molecular Mechanics (LAMM). He is the Director of the
MIT-Germany Program, Co-Director of the MIT Computation for Design and
