Hello MIT Postdocs,

We want to be sure you all know about MIT's Independent Activity Period
(IAP), and the numerous classes and activities at which you are welcome
throughout January. Go to http://web.mit.edu/iap/ and explore the
listings of non-credit areas by sponsor (see for example Biology) or
category, and note when advance sign up is required. Most all of these
are free and open to the MIT community, but be sure to note any
restrictions. Categories include Careers; Engineering; Law and Legal
Issues; Management Entrepreneurship; Writing and Communication Skills,
and other, including some that are purely fun.

See the overview (http://web.mit.edu/iap/overview/index.html) where it
says, in part, "IAP offerings are distinguished by their variety,
innovative spirit, and fusion of fun and learning. Past IAP activities
have ranged from credit activities such as human biochemistry lectures
and community service workshops, to noncredit offerings such as
Mediterranean cooking classes and improvisational comedy workshops."

Enjoy!

Dana
