For MIT Postdocs from the Office of the Dean for Graduate Education

***
Dear Postdocs:

I hope that everyone’s semester is off to a wonderful start. The Office
of the Dean for Graduate Education is re-launching its mentoring
program. Our graduate community fellow, Irene Blat will be spearheading
this effort. This program allows post-docs the opportunity to serve as
mentors to graduate student protégés.The program received great reviews
from former participants and we are certain that it will be a wonderful
training opportunity for any of you who decide to be a part.

The minimal time commitment is roughly (see survey for details) an hour
or so per month during the semester, but in our experience, mentors and
protégés connect much more often than that.

If you are interested, we ask that you sign up using our mentoring
survey (see https://es.surveymonkey.com/s/mitmentor).

This is a wonderful opportunity to share your wealth of experiences with
budding young scientists and engineers. It is also a great chance to hone
your craft as you yourself grow into a successful mentor.

We look forward to hearing back from you.If you have any questions or
concerns, feel free to reach out to Irene (iblat at mit.edu
<mailto:iblat at mit.edu>).

Sincerely

Christopher Jones
