*Subject:* Fellowship opportunit in biomedical imaging research -
applic. deadline Dec. 15
Dear Leon,
I am writing in behalf of a very exciting biomedical imaging research
fellowship opportunity as a result of a new initiative between MIT and
Madrid. My hope is you can help us push this information out to
interested students and alumns. Yuliya Preger of the SWE suggested I
reach a member of the Postdoctoral Advisory Council.
Please see the brief narrative below my signature. The deadline for
application is Dec. 15 so we would like to get this information out
quickly. Your suggestions are so welcomed of other groups that would
want to know about this. Appropriate candidates have just completed a
PhD, MD, or MBA or may have experience in the private sector in an
entrepreneurial or research capacity. The fellowship opportunity is open
to candidates beyond MIT as well.
Thanks very much for your help.
Sincerely,
Bev Freeman
*International Fellowship in Translational Biomedical Imaging - Call
for applications*
The Madrid-MIT M+Vision Consortium, a new multi-institutional venture in
translational biomedical imaging research, is seeking exceptional
emerging talent from all over the world for the M+Vision Fellowship.
Leveraging the resources of two great research communities, Madrid and
Boston, the fellowship experience is multidisciplinary, flexible, and
focused on important problems, with research projects formulated by the
Fellows. Components include: short courses in medicine, imaging
technology, and business; a lecture series by world-renowned leaders in
imaging science; rotations in clinical departments; and idea generation
mentorship. Fellows receive a generous stipend and travel expenses to
cover a summer of structured learning experiences in Madrid, followed by
a semester in Boston developing a research direction, and the launch of
a research project (1-2 years in duration or longer) with the potential
for global impact. To be eligible, candidates must have: MD, PhD, or 5+
years of work past a Bachelor’s degree; experience in some aspect of
biomedical imaging; and English fluency. Applications due December 15,
2011. Fellowship begins July 1, 2012. For more information please visit
