FYI,

There is a two year commitment for Presidential Committees so please do not submit an application if you plan to be at MIT for less than 2 years.

Broad postdocs are not eligible to apply.  You must have an MIT appointment in an MIT DLC.

Subject: Limited Call for Nominations for Presidential Committees

Vice President for Research Claude Canizares has 5 Presidential Committee that report directly to him.   He has spoken with each Committee Chair and every one of them would welcome postdoc participation on their committee.  If anyone is interested in serving on the following committees, please email me [debra at mit.edu] by Friday, August 6.  This deadline is firm.

1.  A brief description [1-3 paragraphs] of why you want to serve on a particular committee and what you can offer.  Please include your supervisor’s name and the DLC that you are appointed in.

2. Your CV.

Your applications will be reviewed by the Nomination Committee of the Postdoc Advisory Council and the finalists will be forwarded to the President’s Office for final approval.  It is the postdoc’s responsibility to notify his/her supervisor of their intent to serve on a committee.

These are the 5 committees that are accepting postdoc nominees.  One postdoc nominee will be appointed to each committee.  We are seeking applications for ONLY the committees listed below. Please check out the links for a brief description and membership information for each committee.
