spouses&partners at mit volunteers at the Silk Road Gala
On Saturday October 17, members of spouses&partners at mit volunteered 
together at ATASK's (the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence) 
annual fundraising gala. ATASK addresses the gaps in services for 
Asian domestic violence survivors in the Greater Boston and Lowell 
areas, including low-income immigrants with limited English language 
capabilities.  Their mission is to prevent domestic violence in Asian 
families and communities and to provide hope to survivors. Learn more

MIT's annual children's Halloween festival - October 24
HallowMIT will be held on Saturday, October 24 from 3-5 p.m. on the 
Stata Student Street. Graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and staff 
are invited to bring their families out for this wonderful tradition. 
HallowMIT has fun for all ages ... with face painters, balloon 
artists, pumpkin carving, games, music, and food. Sponsored by 
Student Activities, Graduate Student Council, spouses&partners at mit, 
and Residential Life Programs

Transforming Common International Family Dilemmas - October 27
Presented by Andy Miser, PhD, on Tuesday October 27 from 7:30-9 p.m. 
in the Westgate Lounge
Dr. Miser will discuss the dilemmas international couples face when 
they move to MIT, and he will share valuable tools couples can use to 
face these challenges with resilience and empowerment. Light 
refreshments will be served. Couples are encouraged to attend 
together, individuals are also welcome. A limited number of 
babysitting slots are available in the playroom.

Job Support Group
On October 21, members of spouses&partners at mit who are looking for 
work in the Boston area met with Bori Stoyanava from MIT Human 
Resources Staffing Services. We discussed resources available at MIT 
and the unique challenges of being an international job seeker in a 
tough market. New member are welcome to join the group at any time.

Thanksgiving Dinner: a tasting of turkey and all of the side dishes 
on Wednesday November 18 from 3-5 p.m. in Eastgate
Holiday Party: Come celebrate the end of another great semester on 
Friday December 11 - location to be announced.

launch - stay tuned for more details.
