The Center for Work, Family and Personal Life is pleased to announce
our upcoming seminar entitled When Kids Are Mean to Each Other, led
by Deborah Weinstock-Savoy, Parenting Education Consultant.
"You stink!" "You're not my friend anymore!" "You can't sit here."
Teasing, excluding, name calling, bullying: The ups and downs of
peer relationship are often painful for our children (and us), but
they also provide crucial opportunities for learning and growth. This
workshop will offer a developmental understanding of social
relationships from preschool through elementary school. We will focus
on how to help children with peer issues, whether they are the
victim, the bystander, or the perpetrator--remembering that many of
our children will be all of these at different times in their school
career.
This seminar will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, from 12:00 PM
to 1:30 PM in the Center conference room, Room 16-151. The seminar is
open to all members of the MIT community, free of charge.
Registration is required. You can register on the web at
