Boston-Area Posts,
Thanks to the generous support of Genome Canada, Science's Next Wave
will be holding a panel discussion on interviewing skills for scientists
on Tuesday, November 9, at 4pm, in the McGovern Auditorium at the 9
Cambridge Center facility of MIT's Whitehead Institute. We will have an
interesting and illustrious panel, and a reception will follow. I'll be
moderating. Yes: goodies will be served. Registration is required, but
it's easy; you can register at
http://php.aaas.org/scheduler/meetings.php .
Admission is limited, and in the past these events have filled up
quickly, so register soon!
This is a great opportunity to learn some nifty things about
interviewing, and I'm hoping to get to meet some of our readers. Looking
forward to seeing you there...

This workshop will offer a framework for understanding the special
challenges for parents who are raising children without a spouse or
long-term partner. Included will be a discussion of strategies for
handling the challenges of single parenting, including communicating
with family members and former partners, helping children cope with
the stresses, and finding energy and attention for work and personal
life.
The seminar will be held on Tuesday, November 9, from 12:00 noon to
1:30 PM, in the Center conference room, Room 16-151. The seminar is
open to all members of the MIT community, free of charge.
