RE: Applications invited for Stata child care center and MIT child
care scholarship programs
The MIT Center for Work, Family & Personal Life is pleased to
announce that applications are now available for MITs newest child
care center in the Ray and Maria Stata Center (Technology Childrens
Center at Stata), scheduled to open on June 1, 2004, as well as for
MITs Child Care Scholarship Programs.
Applications for Technology Childrens Center at Stata
In order to ensure a fair and efficient process, spaces at Technology
Childrens Center at Stata (TCC-Stata) will be filled initially by
lottery, with priority given to members of the MIT community.
Applications for the lottery are being accepted now through March 19,
2004, at 5:00pm, and entries will be drawn beginning April 5, 2004.
All applications received at any time between today and March 19,
2004, at 5:00pm will be entered into the lottery on an equal basis,
regardless of application date. There is no urgency to your
submission, provided that it is received no later than Friday, March
19, 2004, at 5:00pm.
Since the lottery will be used both to determine summer enrollment at
TCC-Stata and to order the waiting list for 2004-05 enrollment, all
families interested in applying to TCC-Stata for either summer or
fall 2004 are encouraged to participate in the lottery.
For more information or to participate in the lottery, please visit
the new TCC web site at http://web.mit.edu/mitchildcare. The site
provides detailed instructions for the lottery and an online
application form. Applications and lottery procedures are also
available at Technology Childrens Center at Eastgate in Building
E55; at the Center for Work, Family & Personal Life in Room 16-151;
or by contacting me at mtmcnall at mit.edu, 617-324-0191.
Applications for MIT Child Care Scholarship Programs
Applications for the MIT Child Care Scholarship Programs will also be
accepted during the same time period, from now until March 19, 2004,
at 5:00pm. The scholarship programs are available to assist a
limited number of eligible staff, faculty, postdocs, and graduate
students with the costs of MITs child care centers.
All those who would like to be considered for scholarship awards for
summer 2004 and/or academic year 2004/05 should apply by March 19,
2004, at 5:00pm, whether they are interested in enrolling children at
TCC-Stata, TCC-Eastgate, TCC-Westgate, or Lincoln Laboratory
Childrens Center. Current scholarship recipients are also required
to re-apply during this period if you plan to continue your
child(ren)s enrollment after August 31, 2004.
Scholarship applications and further information are available at
http://web.mit.edu/hr/worklife/scholarship.html or by contacting me
at mtmcnall at mit.edu, (617) 324-0191.
