Greetings,
The Scientist is conducting a survey of postdocs and we need your assistance.
We are looking to make this our most comprehensive survey of the
current state of postdoc life, and you can help by spreading the
word. Please forward the message following the first URL below to
the members of your organization and encourage them to participate in
this survey.
An analysis of the results of our survey will be published in The
Scientist's February 16, 2004 issue. All those who respond to our
survey by Friday, December 12, 2003 will be entered in a drawing for
a Canon PowerShot A70 Digital Camera.

Some postdocs find their positions rewarding, while others are
dissatisfied and disillusioned. Where do you fall in the spectrum?
Empowered or powerless? Well compensated or impoverished? Open
communication or existing in a vacuum? Is your PI helpful or
difficult?
Help us to help you and countless others by giving us your take on
everything, from the quality of your training and mentoring to your
compensation and social life.
Take the survey -- Make a difference and be heard!

Last year's survey, published in February 2003, has been widely read
and quoted, and has helped many postdocs to measure the quality of
their positions against others. By bringing this survey to the
attention of your peers, we can improve on this even further.
An analysis of the results of our survey will be published in The
Scientist's February 16, 2004 issue. All those who respond to our
survey by Friday, December 12, 2003 will be entered in a drawing for

Please let your fellow postdocs know about this survey... the more
responses we receive the more valuable the results will be to
everyone.
With best wishes,
The Scientist
