*Develop a proposal for a Davis Projects for Peace $10,000 fellowship!*
Davis Projects for Peace is offering a $10,000 fellowship for an MIT
undergraduate student project that promotes peace, to be implemented in the
summer of 2013. The aim is to "help young people launch some immediate
initiatives that could bring new thinking to the prospects for peace in the
world." MIT will select several compelling proposals to send forward, and
at least one is guaranteed to be funded! Think creatively, innovatively,
and entrepreneurially -- this is a chance to formulate and test ideas for
peace.
Proposals should be emailed to davis-peace at mit.edu by 9:00am on Wednesday,
January 30th, 2013.
Details:
You'll need to submit the following:
-- a detailed two-page, single-spaced proposal (who, what, when, where,
how, anticipated outcomes) that includes confirmation of the participation
of any partner organizations or people
-- a detailed one-page budget for carrying out the project in summer 2013
Here are some useful guidelines:
-- Your submission should be sent as .doc (the budget can be .xls or .doc)
NOT .pdf, docx, etc.
-- Competitive proposals will be visually appealing (nicely formatted) and
clearly written, communicating well-planned, innovative projects
-- The relevance to peace should be strong and clearly articulated
Proposals will be judged using these criteria:
-- strong and clearly articulated relevance to peace
-- creativity and innovation
-- potential for impact
-- feasibility (showing that the team can accomplish the work within the
required time frame, using the available funding)
-- well thought-through and presented budget: detailed, realistic, and
practical
If your proposal is selected, we will help you refine it. You should be
available to make final revisions before February 8th, 2013.
