Subject: [Habitat Exec] Reaching out to Companies Follow Up
Hey guys,
As promised wanted to follow up my previous email on reaching out to companies for sponsorships. Please see the list of companies below. Next to each company is one of your names and then any contact info if I have it (generally an email address). If there's no contact info, just google the store and it shouldn't be hard to find their number. If there's an email address, feel free to send an email. Many of them we will need to call though. I promise you its not that hard. Here's a general protocol to follow:
1). Call company sometime during the day. Introduce yourself and ask for a manager ("Hi my name is Josh and I'm a student at MIT. I'm calling on behalf of MIT's Habitat for Humanity Club. We were hoping to partner with you guys for an event we have coming up, could I please speak to a manager?)
2). Sometime a manager won't be around. Find out what time he/she will be and call back. If you do get a manager, re-introduce yourself and explain you're seeking donations for the event. Explain what the event is and that we're trying to get either food for after the event or gift cards to give as prizes. Details of the event: Sunday April 28th in the morning. Last fall had 350 people register. Last fall raised almost 3000 dollars. 7th time we're doing the event. We'll put them on our t-shirt, fliers, and website if they donate. We are a non-profit and they get a tax deduction if they donate.
3). If they will give us something great, find out what and how/when to pick it up. If not, thank them (they suck).
Its that easy. Please reach out to your two companies before our meeting on Monday so we can share any luck we've had when we meet. If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to ask me.
Thanks!
Josh

Hey Team,
So there's no meeting tomorrow since we have the day off. We'll meet next Monday at 6pm.
I've sent a lot of you emails over the last couple hours so if you can please respond that would be awesome.
An important point for everyone:
Here is a list of various sponsors I want us to reach out to for food donations. Please let me know if you want me to add any to the list. Please also let me know if there are any you want to contact in particular or one's your concerned about. I put people's names next to sponsors just as a preliminary assignment. In about 24 hours I'll send out a revised list with assignments to each person and a loose script of what to say/do to reach out to these companies. We'll be reaching out to non-food companies shortly, but I'll address that separately.
Sponsors:
Nestle-Cynthia (Bill Gray William.Gray at waters.nestle.com-looking for snack foods or water for the event)
General Mills-Cynthia (Danielle Julien Danielle.Julien at genmills.com-looking for snack foods for after the event)
Bon Apetite-Farah (Marietta Lamare Buck mlbuck at mit.edu-looking for breakfast foods for before event)
Shaws-Camille (Steve Peruzzi, I think you called them last year-would look to get water or even better a gift card)
MIT Faculty Club-Camille (Nina Matthews nmatthew at mit.edu-looking for water donation)
Trader Joes-Farah (have to call the store in cambridge and possibly go in person-looking for gift card or some kind of gift basket)
