MIT Habitat for Humanity
Event Coordinator

Dear John,

Hello! I work for Project Bread, which is an anti-hunger nonprofit located in East Boston that is dedicated to alleviating and preventing hunger in Massachusetts. I wanted to reach out to various groups in the MIT community to see if there is interest in our annual fundraising event, the Walk for Hunger. The Walk for Hunger is one month away- Sunday May 1st -and is a 20 mile walk throughout Boston that raises money for emergency food programs throughout the state. The 2010 Status Report on Hunger revealed that there are 660,000 people in Massachusetts at risk for hunger- a staggering number which really shows how important the need is! I was hoping that MIT Habitat would be interested in either raising awareness about the Walk by accepting some flyers/posters, or perhaps starting a team of walkers. More details about the Walk for Hunger can be found on our website, http://www.projectbread.org/walk. If the Walk for Hunger is something that you believe fits in to your groups’ mission and schedule, please let me know and I can help you register a team. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Sarah
