Hello Habitat Greater Boston Campus Chapters!
I hope you all had lovely winter breaks and are now enjoying our beautiful
Boston-area weather as your spring semesters begin! Happy New Year and
welcome back!
It's that time again... Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston is excited to
announce that our Spring 2010 Campus Chapters Summit will be held on *Tuesday,
February 9th* at our offices in the North End of Boston.
That's only 2 weeks away! Save some space on your calendars, and tell your
leadership board and adviser!
Just like our previous gatherings (last Spring and Fall), the Summit will be
a time for current Campus Chapters, aspiring Campus Chapters and those
colleges and universities that want to learn more about becoming a Campus
Chapter or Habitat in general to all get together for an evening of updates,
sharing ideas, inspiration and, of course, PIZZA!
The Campus Chapter Summit will take place in our office at 240 Commercial
Street *in the North End of Boston from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Tuesday,
February 9th*. We hope that each of you will be able to send 2-3
representatives from your college to participate in the Summit. We will
spend the first part of the evening briefly covering what is going on at
Habitat Greater Boston and how we are continuing to develop our Campus
Chapters program -- including how we are looking to incorporate social
media. Afterward, we will break out into focus groups from which
participants will select and discuss a variety of topics about advocacy,
events, fundraising, volunteering, alternative breaks, etc. -- this Summit
is for you, what you want to discuss with your peers and counterparts from
other schools, and members of our staff here at HFHGB.
I hope that you will be able to put February 9th from 5:30-7:30pm on your
calendar to meet fellow Habitat enthusiasts and campus chapter leaders.
We'd love to have you join us! We are a 10 minute walk from the Orange,
Green and Blue lines so mass transportation is the best way to get to our
office. There are parking lots available as well.
Please let me know if you plan on attending -- to talk about Habitat, meet
representatives from other schools in the area, and enjoy some North End
pizza! Please RSVP by sending a quick reply to this email or giving me a
call at 617.423.2223 ext. 11. And of course, feel free to get in touch with
me if you have any questions whatsoever.
Looking forward to seeing you here!
Cheers,
--Lee
P.S. If you are no longer the contact for your college/university group,
please let me know who would be the best person to pass this on to.
