Hi all,
Sorry to keep flooding your inboxes. Does anyone know anything about this
event? Radhika mentioned something about it way back when, but I'm a little
confused about what goes on. Would we plan a workday for the 17th and then
have grad students go to it? If you know, lemme know. If this IS the case,
do we want to do this? I could switch the 24th workday to the 17th, or just
add another workday to our schedule. What do you all think?
Bye,
Elyse

Subject: [mit-habitat-exec] Get Your Group Involved in Graduate Student
Volunteer Day
Dear Student Group,
We are pleased to announce that this year's Graduate Student
Volunteer Day will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2005. Since your
group has hosted a volunteer site activity in the past, we are especially
looking forward to your participation again this year!
We are currently recruiting graduate student group leaders to
organize and lead a volunteer site for a mix of 10-15 students from your
group, new students, and other students interested in your volunteer
activity. Please see our website for examples of the many greater Boston
volunteer organizations that we have helped in past GSVDs :
http://web.mit.edu/gsc/www/programs/gsvd. As you know, this is a great
event in which to introduce new students to your organization, make new
friends, and make a difference in our community.
If you are interested in getting your group involved in this
year's GSVD and planning a volunteer site activity, please let us know of
your interest at gsvd at mit.edu and plan to attend a group leader meeting next
Tuesday, June 7, at 7pm in the GSC office, 50-220. Dinner will be provided.
At this meeting, we will give you more details on how easy it is to lead a
volunteer site. If you can't make it to this meeting, we'll have another
group leader meeting on Monday, June 20 at 5:30p.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at
gsvd at mit.edu. Thanks and we hope you are looking forward to a fantastic
GSVD VI!
