So Harini and I went to Treasurer training Wednesday, to try and figure out
what kinds of financial services and sources of funding we have as an ASA
group.
In addition to lots of random information, we realized Finboard appeals are
due next Wednesday.
So we need to figure out our budget.
Which means we need your help.
Figure out what sorts of things you will be spending Habitat money on this
term: postering, events, food, equipment... and come up with an estimate of
how much it will cost. Send me and Harini (harini_r at mit.edu) this
information by Monday.
To see what amounts we've requested in the past go to
http://web.mit.edu/finboard/www/ and at the very bottom will be a green box
labelled "Allocations Archive". It seems the last time we got money was
Spring 2001 ($850). We got $1200 in Fall 01, and $225 in Fall 98 and
*that's it*. Not much to go on... Remember that Finboard will not finance
our fundraisers, but everything else is good. Please categorize all your
other costs as either "Operational" (for the everyday running of Habitat),
"Capital" (long term use, like if we were to purchase tools or something),
"Events" (Workday costs, awareness events costs...), and "Publicity and
Postering" (Self-explanatory).
