Adobe has fixed this longstanding bug as of Acrobat DC Version
2015.2015.20039 (build 203716), which was publicly released on October 12.


Apparently nobody had bothered to report this bug in the past 6 years,
or if they did they did not do so effectively. The cynic is me is 
cynical (surprise!).
