Just a heads up for those supporting Macs…
I'm finding that the Apple Remote Desktop 3.7 update appears to have an issue getting along with the application level firewall on some machines. I'm unable to screen share on some 10.7.5, 10.8.5, and 10.9 machines after the update. The application firewall shows the connection is being denied. I found some chatter about it on the interwebs, but there does not appear to be an uproar at this point.
One thing I've observed (beyond being unable to connect) is a new entry in the firewall options for "screensharingd" set to Block All. This is in addition to the existing Screen Sharing entry set to Allow All. Changing the "screensharingd" entry to Allow All or removing it altogether does not make any difference and after a reboot the "screensharingd" entry is back and set to Block All. As you might expect, turning off the firewall fixes the issue.
I am able to screen share using the Casper client.
