[Macpartners] select airplay device from command line

one of the things i most love of apple and OS X is that most everything is accessible from the shell.
'most' everything…

i cannot find a way to select a particular AirPlay device (AppleTV with AirPlay enabled).
i see one can do it from applescript (once enabling access for assistive devices), but this is far from elegant.

does anyone know how to do this from the bash shell?
