[Macpartners] terminal command help

Hello,

Quite a while back, some users wanted pdfs to open automatically in a new window. I used a terminal command to do that.

Recently, I needed to turn that off and have safari open pdfs in a new tab. It does not work for one machine.

The command is: defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitOmitPDFSupport -bool NO

I have entered this using an admin account (the user accounts are not admin), deleted the safari plist, restarted the machine. This will not 'take' on one machine. Safari continues to open pdfs in a new window.

Any suggestions(will not be able to try them until Monday)? I realize I can set Safari preferences to open tabs always or automatically. However, we need to set that preference to never, take the new tab url and bring it over to the second monitor to 'teach' safari what we want. It works for all but one machine.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Karen
