Good Afternoon:
IS&T has released an update to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client used on Mac OS X. This release, now called Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (Version 3.0), provides improved security and OS compatibility.
Current OS X VPN users will be upgraded to this latest version automatically upon connecting to MIT’s Virtual Private Network. New users can obtain it online at vpn.mit.edu.
Known Issue: The installer removes Cisco AnyConnect and replaces it with Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, breaking any Quick Launch features including the OS X Dock. Users who have the VPN application on the OS X Dock will need to replace the application with the new Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client found in the Application folder.
More information about MIT’s VPN can be found on the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client for All Platforms page<http://ist.mit.edu/cisco-anyconnect/all> and installation instructions can be found in the Knowledge Base article: Cisco AnyConnect VPN - Installing the VPN Client and Initiating a Connection<http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/x/6QPn>.
For additional questions or assistance with the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, please contact the Help Desk at 617.253.1101 or helpdesk at mit.edu<mailto:helpdesk at mit.edu>. You can also submit a request online at http://ist.mit.edu/help.
Thank you,
