Good Afternoon,

Apple has released a third update to its Java runtime environment for
machines running OS X Lion (10.7) and Snow Leopard (10.6). According the
Apple, the patch will "remove the most common variants of the Flashback
malware" from affected machines and reduce the risk of a Flashback
infection.

IS&T strongly recommends that Snow Leopard (10.6) and Lion (10.7) users
run the Software Update mechanism built into OS X
(http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1338) at their earliest convenience.

More information about the two Java updates can be found here:

Snow Leopard: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1516
Lion: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1515

More information about the Flackback malware can be found here:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5244

Best,
Andrew
