Subject: Renegotiated Microsoft Campus Agreement Benefits MIT Students

==========

Information Services and Technology (IS&T) is pleased to inform the community that we are now offering Microsoft Office Professional licenses at no cost to all MIT students through the Institute's Microsoft Campus Agreement (MSCA).

Centrally funded Microsoft Office licenses have been available to MIT faculty, staff and departments through the MSCA since 2004. In response to numerous requests, IS&T aggressively renegotiated MIT's MSCA to include coverage for students. Departments, labs and centers that have funded Microsoft Office for their students under the MSCA will no longer need to do so.

Under the new agreement, each MIT student is entitled to install Microsoft Office on one personally owned machine. Students can download the software from the Microsoft Campus Agreement for Office download site: https://msca.mit.edu/cgi-bin/msoffice (certificates http://ist.mit.edu/services/certificates required).

For additional information on installing and using Microsoft Office products, visit the Obtaining Microsoft Office page http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/x/UjpB in the Hermes knowledge base. Members of the community can also freely access online training on Microsoft Office products at lynda.com http://lynda.mit.edu.

Please feel free to share this with others in your department, lab or center. If you have any questions or concerns, please send email to msoftcampus at mit.edu.
