[Macpartners] the case of the missing custom paper size(s)

Hi,
I often use an HP Designjet 500PS to print posters (from PowerPoint) to
present our research work. The posters often vary in size, 56x42,
42x42, 56x36 etc etc. This means I do a lot of File > Page Setup >
Options > and from my Paper Size pulldown, to manage custom sizes...
That part of the process has been going swimmingly.
However, recently from PowerPoint, when I go to File > Print, all of my
custom sizes are gone from the "paper handling" portion of the print
dialog box.
Meaning, when I pull down the Destination Paper Size, where normally I
should have a list of my custom sizes (at the bottom) they are not
there. The DIVIDER line between the "stock" sizes (after US Letter) and
my "custom" sizes is there... but the custom sizes are gone... even
though they are present in my page setup!

This prevents me from using my trusty macbook for poster printing and
I've resorted to printing posters from a PC... that tends to crash my
printer!
I've done some searching around the web to solve this, but have yet to
find the right combination of keywords. :) Perhaps you can help either
with a solution or suggestion? I mean, can I just hard code my custom
sizes into a plist or something?
Some additional info... seems that the aforementioned dialog box changes
from application to application... for example, PREVIEW will show the
custom page sizes I've created.
Relevant details: 10.5.7, PowerPoint: mac 2008 12.1.9
Thanks!
Aran
