In the past, I have purchased a refurbished Mac direct from the Apple
web site and was very happy with it. They usually are sold as Apple
certified and a 1year warrantee, so you know you are getting a quality
product that has been checked for quality. Their offering (under
Special Deals on the Apple.com store) does vary, but sometimes they have
fairly new releases. For example, the have a refurbished 20in iMac
(current generation) for $999 (original $1999).
