[Macpartners] Macpartners Digest, Vol 57, Issue 10

I'm almost 100% positive that USB devices are not bootable from a non- 
intel Mac.    Does your G5 not have a DVD drive?  Does not have to be  
a dual layer drive to read a dual-layer disc.

Also, you can "clone" the CD onto an external Firewire drive and boot  
from that if the internal DVD drive is not an option.  Use Disk  
Utility to do this.
