Good afternoon:

Firefox 3 was released to the general public on June 17, 2008.

Since then, Information Services & Technology (IS&T), in concert with
business process owners and website maintainers across the Institute,
tested web sites and services vital to the MIT community to ensure
that functionality and accessibility have not been compromised or
changed with the latest version.

The few issues found during testing have been reported and documented;
possible workarounds are under review and will be available when a fix
is applied to those few sites. In the meantime, IS&T advises users who
depend on DHL for departmental shipping to stay with Firefox 2.0.0.16
(Mac/Win) until a fix has been implemented.

Users who are using version Firefox 2.0.0.16 are now being prompted
that the Firefox 3.0.1 update is available.

In addition to several security and stability enhancements, Firefox
3.0.1 has several new features including a smart location bar that
lets you find favorite sites in just seconds.

For additional information on new features and to read the release
notes, see the Firefox at MIT page:

issues,

Browsers and is available at:
