Yesterday, Apple released Mac OS X 10.4.11 and Security Update
2007-008. For many users, the biggest change with 10.4.11 will be
that Safari 3 is installed as the default browser.

With any operating system update, you should be careful. Apple does
their best to test each update before making them public, but there's
always the chance problems still might occur.

When doing an upgrade, there are several steps you can do to help make
the process go as smoothly as possible.

* Have a current backup of all all of your data.

* Test the upgrade on a non-production machine before installing it on
production hardware.

* Before upgrading, run the Verify Drive option in Disk Utility.

* After the upgrade, run the Repair Permissions option in Disk Utility
to fix any permissions issues that might have been caused the by the
installer.
