[Macpartners] dvd-r compatibility mac/pc

I've run into an issue with dvds a friend burned on a mac. The quicktime 
movie files on the discs play fine on macs, but will begin to stutter 
and freeze 35 minutes in on win xp. i've tried multiple pcs with no 
luck. when burning dvd-rs on the mac, are there certain settings that 
must configured in order to avoid playback  issues on a pc?
