[Macpartners] networking 2 g4 powerbooks

1) i have 2 g4 powerbooks running os X.4.8 which are currently each 
connected by airport to the internet via the same  linksys wireless-g 
2.4 ghz broadband router.  i would like to be able to exchange data over 
a lan between the 2 laptops using this router.  what do i have to set to 
do this?

2) i tried hooking the 2 laptops together with a firewire cable, but 
they did not recognize each other.  what do i have to set to make this work?
