Here are just some of my issues. I have more and would be happy to
discuss them.
* Cross-platform authentication on OS X server. Mac clients can log
in to SMB volumes on my OS X server without a password (Kerberos
handles that). Windows clients cannot log into the same volume, even
though they have Kerberos credentials. This worked in Panther (OS X
10.3) but stopped working in Tiger server.
* Indexing of server volumes. Client machines need to be able to
Spotlight search volumes on OS X server.
* Encrypted iChat using Jabber, although I understand this must also
be enabled on MIT Jabber's server. iChat does support encryption for
people who chat using AIM and have dotMac (.mac) accounts.
* Personal .mac service, so I can offer to my users the ability to
synchronize their bookmarks and contacts between multiple
Macintoshes. Currently the only solution for that is to buy them a
$99/year .mac account.
