[Macpartners] 15" PowerBook discontinued

Hi Helen:

Thanks, but I was inquiring where we could order the "older" 15"
PowerBooks. Surely there must be many in a resellers inventory
somewhere. I'd need to demo running all the Adobe CS products at the
same time on one of the new MacBook Pros to be convinced.

I have a few MacBook Pros on order (they haven't arrived yet). I
ordered mine through the Apple Store (via ECAT).

While I do have some concerns about speed of applications under
Rosetta, I am less worried on laptops than I would have been on
iMacs. A 1.67GHz PPC Powerbook is quite a bit slower than even the
slowest available MacBook Pro (which is dual core), not just in
Megahertz but also efficiency in general. I anticipate seeing
performance on a 2.13GHz MacBook that is *no worse* than a 1.67GHz
PPC, even under Rosetta applications. And as for native applications
(Safari, Mail), I hope for a significant speed bump.
